PRESIDENT'S CORNER

Howdy Everyone! Can you believe it’s June already!? Where did the year go? It’s been a great dance season! But there is still plenty more to be had! Check the website for dances to go to all summer long! We still have two Mondays to go also. Our last class night for this season is June 14th (at Arlington Street United Methodist Church). June 7th is still at the Church of the Good Shepherd. On the same night we have our last class the trustees from the Pilgrim Congregational Church will be meeting to discuss our potential use of their hall for both classes and our Saturday night dances. I, or someone from the board, will be emailing everyone if there is a change in halls for the fall. If you have any questions, please call!

Don’t forget our summer pool party and change over meeting for the boards! It will be June 26th at the home of Chris Howard. The party starts at noon so bring something for the grill and something to share for lunch! Then be sure to have your swimsuits and water guns for the pool party! We will have the change over meeting at 1pm followed by more time in the pool! All are invited!!

A couple of dancing activities in August that I know of

and will be going to: Dancing weekend with Randy Dougherty August 13-15. The dancing will be at the Hayloft Barn in Sturbridge, MA. There are campgrounds near by and hotels as well!

If you want to stick around in the area there will also be dancing (FREE!) Monday August 16, Tuesday August 17 and Wednesday August 18 starting at 8pm! There is a callers’ school going on that week and this is the time they use to practice their newly found skills! It’s a lot of fun and you never know who will be there, or where they may be from! There are frequently callers from around the world at the school. These are taking place also at the Hayloft Barn in Sturbridge, MA. I hope to see you there!

We have all summer to recruit! Let’s get as many new faces for next year’s class as possible!! Word of mouth is the best invitation! We’ll be starting the Monday after Labor Day, September 13th (post mailing correction September 20th). This will be my last class as a single lady. Steve and I will think of you all while we are on our honeymoon!

Have a great summer and keep dancing!

June 12, 2004: BCS will be hosting Single Squares and Riverside Squares to retrieve their banners.

June 26, 2004: BCS will be retrieving our banner from Wolf Rockers, Mason, NH. This is pretty late in the dance season but you won’t want to miss Matt Auger calling and Lou Boudreau cueing this Mainstream/Plus dance. The theme of this dance is "Ice Cream Social" – and it’s always GREAT ice cream!

This will end our official 2003-2004 dance season.

CARPOOL: The location of the carpool is at the Nashua Mall. When you pull into the Mall, turn right toward Kohl’s.

Class Chair Report Steve White

I want to thank everyone for their help and support with the class this year. I also want to thank all those people who helped with setup and take down each week.

I strongly encourage everyone to get out and recruit people over the summer to join us for lessons in the fall. Our first Fun Night will be Sept. 13th (post mailing correction Sept. 20th) and a second Fun Night is planned for the following Monday night as well. Tell all your friends and encourage them to come try it out free of charge for the first night. They will thank you for it!!

I hope everyone has a great summer and I hope to see many of you in a square over the summer!!
